Creating your account & first login

Set up your organization during onboarding and land in the Fiduciary Admin dashboard.

What this is, and why it matters

DPDP Guard is built for Data Fiduciaries — the organizations that collect and process personal data and carry the compliance obligations under the DPDP Act. So the first thing a new account does is register that organization: your notices, consent records, rights requests and grievances all live underneath it, and nothing else can be set up until it exists.

Steps

  1. After signing up, you’ll land straight on the organization setup form.

  2. Enter your Organization Name. The Slug auto-fills from it — this is the URL-friendly identifier used by your privacy scripts and public pages (for example /policy/acme-corp), so pick something stable. You can edit it before submitting.

  3. Select Register Organization. You’re promoted to Fiduciary Admin of the new organization and land in the Fiduciary dashboard, where a guided checklist walks you through adding a domain, publishing a notice, and designating a DPO.

If you’re an individual, not an organization

Data Principals — people exercising rights over their own data — normally don’t start here. Rights like access, correction, erasure and grievances are always exercised against a specific company, so the route in is the link in that company’s privacy notice, consent banner, or the email they sent you.

If you’ve already given consent through DPDP Guard and want your personal dashboard, the onboarding screen has a “Here to see or delete data a company holds about you?” link below the form.

What happens next

Registering an organization sets your account’s role to Fiduciary Admin, and that’s the dashboard you’ll see on every future login. If your organization already exists in DPDP Guard and you need DPO (rather than Fiduciary Admin) access, ask an existing Fiduciary Admin to invite you from Team & Roles instead of registering a second organization.

Choosing the individual path is no longer a dead end either: if you land on the personal dashboard and realise you meant to set up a company, the dashboard offers a Set up an organization shortcut back to onboarding.
