Creating your account & first login
Choose your role during onboarding and land in the right dashboard.
What this is, and why it matters
The first thing DPDP Guard asks a new account is “How will you use DPDP Guard?” — because a Data Principal and a Fiduciary Admin need completely different tools, and picking correctly up front means you land straight in the dashboard built for you instead of hunting for the right one.
Steps
-
After signing up, you’ll land on the onboarding screen with two choices.

Select Data Principal if you’re an individual managing your own consents, requests, and grievances with organizations that hold your data. You’re taken straight to your principal dashboard.
-
Select the business option if you’re setting up DPDP Guard for an organization. You’ll be asked a few details about the organization next, then land in the Fiduciary Admin dashboard once setup completes.

What happens next
Your choice determines which dashboard you see on every future login — it isn’t a one-time quiz, it sets your account’s role. If your organization already exists in DPDP Guard and you need DPO (rather than Fiduciary Admin) access, ask an existing Fiduciary Admin to invite you from Team & Roles instead of onboarding as a new organization.
